If you note multiple network adapter problems for isatap.myhome.westell.com in device manager you may find that Microsoft.com indicates this is a IPv6 tunneling issue and can be ignored, or you can disable IPv6 for your network adapters… This is not the case. You may also note multiple ‘anyname’.myhome.westell.com device errors, not just for isatap. This is actually a DNS registration issue and/or a conflict due to hidden software drivers with the Verizon Internet Antivirus that came bundled with your ISP setup.
The errors are typically due to USB wireless adapters and the associated Verizon/Westell Modems. Something I could not find online, but is the case:
For the Verizon USB adapter, Verizon’s Antivirus will cause this problem! Yet was unable to find on any forums or blogs. So if all else fails: Uninstall Verizon Internet AV and get a new one!
Another option is to go to network connections, right click your Verizon/Westell Modem device and click properties. Click on Internet Protocl Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), click on ‘Properties’, then click the ‘Advanced Button’. Click the DNS tab, and towards the bottom try selecting ‘Use the Connection’s DNS suffix in DNS’. Do the same for IPv6 if you wish.
