What is all this hype about PR and how do I make this number go higher? Pagerank is nothing more than Google’s own method of ranking a site’s importance based on number and quality of backlinks (incoming links). Anyone can rank a site. If you like a site, feel free to give it your own personal ranking: Thumbs up or thumbs down, 1-5 stars, whatever. We all hear about the importance of backlinks, page rank, exposing your site via social media, but the most important aspect to the development of your website is and always will be content. Three simple points: Quality, Unique, Relevant. Quality, Unique, Relevant. Can’t say it enough. This is the meat and potatoes of your site. Search engine traffic is the most important traffic you will ever get and search engine crawlers look more and more to the content on pages than ever before. If someone finds your site through a search engine, this means someone has a need, is searching for that information, product or service, and they found you. Indian Harbour Beach Volunteer Fire Department has been a part of Brevard County’s Space Coast Community since 1965. For those that know, this is during the boom years of the space industry and when people still looked at the surrounding communities as pineapple plantation implants and the land of ‘I Dream of Genie’. IHB is a small town, encompassing about two square miles and about 8300 residents (as of 2008). But it is one of the most transversed areas in Central Florida, being the ‘landing zone’ for beach goers coming from Melbourne across the Eau Gallie Cswy. and being centrally located along Highway A1A. From the beginning, IHB Volunteer Fire Department has been providing its citizens and visitors with quick and efficient emergency response services. They are proud of what they do and they should be. Now with the power of WordPress, they will be able to reach out to the community. Meet and great. Keep the community informed of events, happenings, and statistics with an easy to use CMS platform.
