Want more control through your Dashboard? Widgetized areas of your WordPress site can be extremely beneficial to control and functionality. Besides the sidebar, the Genesis framework provides widgetized regions throughout your wordpress site to include the header, content, and footer. Most genesis framework themes, including the enterprise theme shown here, feature a completely widgetized home page. As shown in this figure, all areas are widget controlled and can be populated with text, imagery, rss feeds, forms, or tidbits from featured pages or posts. All this managed and controlled through the Appearance -> Widget area of your Dashboard. You can set your header left region to either text or a logo, header right region can be completely widget controlled.
Navigation can also be managed easily through the control panel, allowing you to develop multiple navigation bars through Appearance -> Menus, and then dropping these customized menus in various regions of your website. Color and graphics are still maintained by the theme css, with 2 navigation areas already templated for you (main nav and subnav).
The genesis framework also packs in extra features on every post and page. You can set customized meta-data for each page to help improve your sites detailed SEO architecture. Each WordPress post/page allows you to also set customized genesis SEO options like custom title, meta description, meta keywords, a custom canonical URI, custom 301 redirect, and robots meta data like nofollow, noindex, and noarchive tag.
Beyond the professional look and functionality of every Genesis theme, you also get added back-end control giving you even more options for maintaining and editing your website’s content. Too see more options, check out the entire Genesis family of themes –> HERE.
